Abstract

There is no intensive effort that has been done to research the portrayal of women characters in all Tshivenda novels. The researcher aims to assess the portrayal of women characters among Tshivenda novel authors during apartheid and post apartheid. The study will use qualitative method to research and obtain information. Literature review will be conducted to get perspectives of authors in relation to presentation and portrayal of women characters. Target groups for this study are authors of Tshivenga novels, women and men, the focus being on how they portrayed women characters in their novels. The information obtained from various authors will be analyzed using descriptive techniques.
