The Small Claims Courts are simplified with no strict pleadings requirements and no formal discovery process, and in most cases, particularly in South Africa no order as to costs. These courts are meant to be easier and less expensive way to resolve disputes than higher courts. In South Africa, these courts are authorized to hear civil matter only.
